It is critical to know our values and the kind of policies that can help bring about a more united, fair and prosperous America. We need to get educated, vote, donate, campaign, speak up and lobby our elected officials using powerful words that convey how we feel. We need to use emotional words and talk specific policies like our lives depend on it, because they do. But it’s complicated and can be overwhelming. To make it easier for you to communicate your values and the policies you want, we created this Building America Anew – Action Plan.
We are not going to get everything we want – at least not right away. And please don’t take the guide as a Bible for progressive nirvana in America, nor as a litmus test for political candidates. It’s a powerful and achievable menu for bettering life for everyone. Go all in or select a la carte. The point is to get educated and get engaged in our political system. Because being political means caring about how our American democracy affects all of us and the world entire. And knowing that we have the power and the tools to help shape our government, turning our frustration and helplessness onto action for a better country and world. It all starts with individual action. But the real power comes when we work together, reaching a critical mass of humanity rising.
