County and state election officials are obligated to certify the vote counts. However, MAGA Republican election officials are threatening to withhold certification in November, including in key battleground states (GA, NV, PA, MI, WI, AZ, NC, CO, NM). In addition, Georgia is enabling people to cancel other voters’ registrations online on false grounds. And even more states are purging voters they don’t like. Remember the facts. In 2020, MAGA Republicans tried to stop certification of the Biden-Harris win, culminating in the violent attack on the U.S. Capitol on January 6th 2021. In 2022, MAGA tried again in multiple counties and states – and failed. Now, they are back at it. We must stop them!
Here are powerful ways you can stop MAGA Republicans from stealing the 2024 election!
1. Get Educated
What Is Election Certification?
“By all accounts, election certification is somewhat of a mundane statutory task: after tabulating all ballots — in-person, mail-in, provisional, absentee — local election officials certify that the ballot count is complete and accurate. That process is then repeated by election officials on the state level and, in the case of a presidential election, in Congress.”

4. Contact Election Officials
Write Postcards | Write Letters | Send Emails | Make Phone Calls
Election officials at the state and county level need to hear that we-the-people will be watching to ensure they certify the election results, which is their mandatory duty. And if they do not certify, then they will be sued and taken to court by pro-democracy voting rights groups (including those mentioned on this action page). When you contact officials, use respectful language (not insults or blame), and urge them to perform their duty consistent with the law. Below, we list officials in all the battleground states where cheating (1) has happened before, (2) is threatened to happen or (3) may be more likely due to smaller margins. Remember that not all Republican election officials are trying to subvert our elections.
Below are short and long version messages you can use and edit accordingly. Just sign your first name and do NOT include your street address. With the threats coming from MAGA Republicans, we must keep ourselves safe to continue fighting for our democracy. Remember to add stamps!

LONG VERSION MESSAGE
Subject: Election Certification Integrity
Hello,
As an American, I cherish being able to vote in free and fair elections. Ensuring that my vote will be counted is most important to me and our democracy. I will not lay down and permit election officials to hijack my vote by obstructing certification of election results.
Obstruction of the certification process is a crime. Voters and voting rights groups are watching county and state election officials closely. Those who try to hijack our elections process face legal procedures to remove them from office and criminal charges for their obstruction of the certification process.
Lack of evidence and multiple court opinions reveal to all of us that voter fraud at the polls is rare and does not pose a threat to election outcomes. However, failing to certify and purging voters are a very real threat. I trust you will (1) certify the election results, (2) prevent unlawful voter purges and (3) ensure that your colleagues do the same as per your obligatory duty. Thank you!
Sincerely, Your first name
