Now an adult and a mother, this remarkable woman shares her powerful story and fear for her own children after Trump and Sessions threaten law-and-order and stop-and-frisk that would further unfairly harm black and brown people, adding to the burden they already face within our racist criminal justice system.

When Trump said law-and-order and stop-and-frisk, I started to become physically ill. It’s going to happen again. How do I protect my children [in tears]?

  • What does the evidence say about stop-and-frisk?

    The evidence shows that stop-and-frisk overwhelmingly targets blacks and Hispanics and MOST PEOPLE STOPPED ARE INNOCENT. Why would good police want to do something that doesn’t significantly stop crime, but harms innocent people?

    “You come home every day, and you see individuals that look like you, that are a part of your neighborhood and culture on the street treated as animals! It does something to you. But what happens when people get fed up of being afraid and intimidated?”
